We just received word that the period for submitting a grant application to the Veterans’ Trust Fund  this from the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.  A Governor’s press release is undoubtedly forthcoming, but considering the short deadline,  looking at the deadline, we decided not to wait and are spreading the word now.  Please help us to through your networks.  See below: (more…)

LVMAC Tidbit: Veterans Trust Fund Awards for 2019 Announced

On 28 February 2019, Governor Tom Wolf announced that $800,000 of grant money from the Veterans Trust Fund (VTF) will be awarded to 29 Pennsylvania organizations that support veterans’ programs throughout the commonwealth, contingent upon completion of a grant agreement.  The trust’s funds are meant to be exclusively used for military veterans, and the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs administers it.  Since 2013, a total of $3,632,860 has been awarded. LVMAC Tidbit:  Veterans’ Trust Fund Grants Notice of Funding Announcement

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) announced today the opening of its fiscal year 2018-19 Veterans’ Trust Fund (VTF) grant cycle.

A combined total of $800,000 in grant funding is available for the 2018-19 grant cycle:  1) $650,000 for grants of up to $50,000 to veterans’ service organizations (VSOs) with 501(c)(19) status and nonprofit organizations with a mission of serving Pennsylvania veterans granted 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Code. Survey Sets Out to Identify Unique Challenges Faced by Pennsylvania’s Approximately 60,000 Women Veterans

Number of Women Veterans is in an Upward Trajectory Nationwide

Annville, PA A report by the National Center for Veterans Analysis and Statistics projects that by 2043 the number of women veterans will increase from about 10 percent to more than 16 percent of all living veterans. With this number on the rise, the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has partnered on a survey with the Women Veterans Committee of the Governor’s Advisory Council of Veterans Services to identify issues of unique concern to Pennsylvania’s approximately 60,000 women veterans.
