LVMAC News: Salute to Troops Dinner Invitation and Memorial Day Parade Registration
The Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council (LVMAC) and the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem are again sponsoring events in May to honor our local military, veterans and their families. The Board of Directors cordially invites the members of our community and those still serving to participate in and provide support for these events:
The annual “Salute to the Troops” Dinner: It will be held on Friday May 10, 2019 at the Center at Holiday Inn, 7736 Adrienne Drive in Breinigsville. Cocktails will be at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at 7:00 p.m. The speaker this year will be Daniel Cooper, Vice Admiral, USN (Retired). His last major government job was as Undersecretary for Benefits at the Department of Veterans Affairs. We ask those attending to pay $35.00 for their meals, as these funds are used to offset the cost of our currently serving military members attending — who do not pay for their meals. Parking is provided free onsite. Kato, a well know husband & wife team will again be entertaining us with musical selections as we dine and dance. We will also have a “Chinese Auction”. Tickets can be purchased the night of the event. We will accept donations for the “Chinese Auction”. Donations should be a value of at least $25.00.
There are about 45,000 veterans and current military members plus their families in the Lehigh Valley. Almost every organization in the Lehigh Valley has felt the effects of employees serving our country. We are asking corporations and other organizations to consider a sponsorship related to the dinner. Please read the instructions on the sponsorship form if your organization would like to participate, sponsor the event or donate an auction item.
The annual Bethlehem Memorial Day Parade: It will be held on Monday May 27th from 9:00-11:00am and is hosted by the United Veterans of Bethlehem, a member organization of LVMAC. The parade will start at Liberty High School and end at the cemetery at Memorial Park with a brief ceremony.
Please RSVP for the dinner no later than May 3rd and for the parade no later than May 22nd with the enclosed forms. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office (484-788-0196) when it is staffed on Wednesdays, or you can email any questions to admin.office@lvmac.org.
Thank you in advance for your support. For the Board of the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council,
Gerald Still, Major General, USAF (Retired).
President, LVMAC
