Promises, promises? Too early to tell, but an anticipated vote last week in the House did not occur, and, paradoxically — for it is a House action — Senator Toomey of Pennsylvania has been pointed out as not helping to resolve the complication, whether rightly or wrongly. The root of the current problem apparently lies in the amendments the Senate made. Did not our senators discuss the impact of their amendments on budgeting rules beforehand?
