Out of the Fire … Documentary Screening

The flyer fails to tell you the time.  It is 6:00–8:30 p.m.
It is wanted that you register.  Click on the QR Code in “More Info”.
This documentary is centered upon military veterans, first responders, recovery, and post-traumatic growth.
The film follows members of a U.S. Army infantry platoon which fought in the Battle of Ramadi, Iraq, in 2006; and, then, the very different battles they faced after returning home.  Their stories explore combat trauma, substance use, suicide risk, recovery, resilience; and ultimately the possibility of post-traumatic growth.
Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring the filmmaker, producer, and actual veterans from the unit who were featured in the documentary.  It creates an opportunity for an open conversation about what happens when warriors struggle; and — as importantly — and what can happen when they find “connection, support, treatment, and renewed purpose”.  Indeed, find out what that jargon means.
