LVMAC News: Battle Borne Explains Why It Exists and What it Does

LVMAC News: Are You the One?

The Council is seeking a special individual who cares about others to help operate its Scholarship Program.  It is a rewarding task, and not burdensome, either.  Does require an organized mind and leadership skills because you are working in a volunteer team environment.  Teachers, administrators, and retired military professionals have found it worthwhile endeavor, but those qualifications are not absolutely necessary.

LVMAC News: Unique Veteran Farmer Training Program Offered by Rodale

It bares repeating that a local organization, the Rodale Institute, offers a unique, organic farmer training program to veterans at no cost.  Privately funded, paid internships are offered and student are assisted with finding housing.  Opportunities like this are part of a broader movement to engage veterans to take up farming as a profession for the welfare of the nation.
