Catalyst4 is Recruiting for a New Class

Published by Rich Hudzinski on

On the heals of its past success, Catalyst4 is seeking once again applicants who are having difficulty finding employment due to something in their past history – e.g., criminal record, mental health, or drug and alcohol issues.  If you are a veteran who has had such difficulties after service and are seeking a livable income, this may be the just the program for you.

The program offers classes to prepare each, individual applicant for a job in the trades.  It works in partnership with other organizations in the Lehigh Valley to offer additional support to its trainees — whatever their needs — to ensure their progress in the process.  Even if one is not interested in the trades, the organization is willing to work with the individual to get the training needed.

Classes are one full day a week for five weeks and include employment/entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy/management, basic math, resilient mindset, and resume writing and interviewing skills; and also  with an emphasis on sharing how your past is one of your greatest strengths. These classes are followed with skills training, on-the-job training, or assistance with beginning a business; and continuing support and mentoring. There is no cost involved.  Following graduation, the fellowship, networking, and learning needed to sustain success is continued through “potluck dinners”.  Catalyst4, indeed, makes a point of remaining available to its graduates when needed, whether it is for mentoring, helping in making connections, or just to talk through issues.

For further information and to apply go to its application page on its website no later than 15 July.
