Forward Observer: 2020-2021 Veterans Trust Fund Applications Sought
We are catching this announcement late. Thought you might want to know. Apparently the announcement went out 16 December 2020. Suspense is 27 January at 2 p.m. for odd reason. Click on the picture to download a complete PDF file with all the necessary details. Funding comes from the donations of citizens and businesses concerned for our veterans.
As perhaps a matter of interest to you, the origin of this fund comes from from LVMAC as a result of a Corbett Administration request through our own Senator Browne to suggest ways to better help our veterans without creating a separate agency exclusively devoted to veterans and their families. We did this despite our firm belief the best course of action ultimately is to release the National Guard from administering veterans affairs. The current situation is unfair to both the National Guard as a military force vital to the defense of this nation and to veterans — populations with different needs in service and expertise. The vast majority of the other states and the federal government have learned this, unlike us.
